#WAS THERE A SEQUEL TO ERAGON THE MOVIE MOVIE#
I get it, but, you know, we’re trying to make a movie here and it was, “Okay, you got the picture,” and yet it just wouldn’t stop all day and all night. There are certain paparazzi who have been following this show for years and have always been a bit over the top and not very respectful, and others who are just doing their job.

We had to do fake scenes of me entering places. I’ve never seen so many paparazzi at every single place we filmed. There was so much speculation and craziness and paparazzi… I was happy to see that Big and Carrie were even together, because there was a rumor that they had split up. It’s typical Michael Patrick King: put in a little Tabasco sauce. I thought it was, again, that thin line of making something that’s not overly maudlin and crying in your beer. You could probably say that about most marriages at some point. I did, too, because that’s always going to be the subtext of their relationship. Were there parts of him that you identified with and connected to? I think people, however densely, mash you up with him. If people are finding something about him that pisses them off or also makes them love him, as long as he’s part of a New York story, I kinda like it. I said, “What you resist, persists.” I was resisting those things about him and the idea that people were looking at him as an iconic character. I mentioned this to another journalist, which they bungled the line. That kept me going, along with being part of what I think was a really extraordinary and timely reflection of people and single people living in New York in the early 2000s and late ’90s. But he was so much more than that, and that got written in in a very funny way. Photographed by Michael Schwartzīecause a lot of people describe him that way: aloof, detached, not willing to commit. Going back to the beginning, what drew you to him? People love him, and I am one of those, and then there are people who hate him.

It is like a mother with her children, these shows for him. I think we trust each other, and it’s a bit of a dance, and then Michael is a wonderful conductor. I really love every minute I’m acting with her because she makes it very easy. We go for long stretches of time where I don’t even see her-we both have children and busy lives, and she’s got three or four businesses and a film career, and I’m doing different things and living in L.A.-but whenever I do, we just pick right back up where we left off. And that was the beginning, as they say in Casablanca, of a beautiful friendship. I’ve listened to Sweeney Todd a million times, and she’s a very astute student of musical theater, so when I started singing Sweeney Todd songs, she joined right in. I’m not a musical theater actor-I mean, in my dreams, I’d love to be. Was there an initial spark between you two that you felt right at the beginning? Did you know each other before Sex and the City ?
